Hostal Asteria - Torotoro

"The family who run the Hostal are super friendly and were very kind to me when I was sick. Although there was a language barrier (our Spanish is not the best) they always were very helpful with tips for the national park, places to eat and general information. The breakfasts were good, they also offered to cook us a traditional Torotoro meal but unfortunately I was unable to try it as I was sick. The rooms were clean and comfy. They also offered sandwiches for our pack lunch to take on our tours in the national park ( at an extra cost). The family also played some traditional music for us and the other guests, they really wanted us to feel like we were welcomed into their home and they certainly did that. One of the best places I’ve stayed in South America."

"We had a great stay here a few days ago. It’s recently been taken over by new owners and we were the first guests with the new people - so older reviews won’t be relevant now. The building’s lovely, the room was big, clean and comfy. The breakfast was substantial and tasty - local dishes, fruit, bread, eggs, coffee. They were very flexible about breakfast time as we had early tours to the national park both days, so we asked to have breakfast a bit earlier and they were very accommodating. Good wifi. They were friendly and attentive."

"Der Host, das Frühstück mit Suppe und der Charme des Hauses. Der Eigentümer ist immer bemüht alles zur Zufriedenheit zu erledigen. Besonders hervorheben muss man die für neue Gäste stattfindende Hausmusik des Hosts mit seinen Kindern. Eine musikalische Reise durch Bolivien. Ganz toll."

"The new owner, Benito, is an excellent host. He is friendly and truly wants you to have a pleasant stay. The breakfast is good and filling - soup, eggs, bread, coffee, and tea. Our room was clean and large and wifi decent."

"Recommendations: the shower curtain extends across the back of the bathroom instead of enclosing only the shower stall, which means the floor is wet after showering. Adding a bar to form a "T" to enclose the shower would be beneficial. I agree with starting breakfast earlier than 7:00. We felt that our options to form a group were limited as we saw groups leaving the tour guide's office when we arrived. I'd also recommend having some items (bread, coffee) on the table before the guests arrive."

"L'accueil par Benito et toute sa famille a été exceptionnel. Notamment lors d'une soirée musicale qu'ils nous ont proposé. Également lors des petits déjeuners, chaque jour avec un plat différent. Nous avons aussi pu demander qu'ils nous préparent des sandwiches pour la randonnée."
