"The place is protected by a wall like many of the properties are so it felt very private and safe. Sophie greeted me and brought me back to ma petite chambre. She was very kind and engaging and, thankfully, spoke English. She explained how everything worked and about ordering breakfast, which appeared right outside my door in the morning. It was exactly as ordered and so lovely. It turned out that Sophie had worked as a young woman in a town in Pennsylvania (where I am from) that I knew very well! That was a delightful small-world moment. The place was clean; there were cups, utensils, a little kettle, and tea bags. The bathroom was tiny yet clean and had everything I needed. There was a nice collection of maps for public transport routes and a list of restaurants in the area that offered delivery. Always helpful and appreciated. The WiFi was reliable. I had the wrong adapter, and Sophie kindly loaned me one. That was a crucial save."

"My only issue was the ladder to the loft where the bed was. I also didn’t realize you couldn’t stand up once you got to the loft. And the straight down descent triggered an unexpected fear of heights. And if you brought anything up with you, you had to get it and yourself down the ladder. I ended up curling up on the little sofa instead. I saw the photos before booking; I couldn’t anticipate my reaction until I was there and using the ladder."

"The room is clean. It has a good heating system and the bed are comfortable."
