"We stayed at the cottage in June 2024 for thirteen nights and found it to be truly wonderful. It is well equipped and comfortably furnished, a real home from home. The owners, Fred and Isa, live opposite and provide friendly help and advice about local attractions without ever being obtrusive. The position of the house is quiet and great for visiting La Rochelle and Ile de Re. The local town of Chatellilon is charming, classily low key yet unpretentious. It offers a good range of shops, and a visit to the daily covered food market is a must. The beaches are admirable, superb for swimming and sunbathing, and there are some very nice restaurants. We made the short excursion to Fouras a couple of times to take in Fort Vauban as well as the distant view of Fort Boyard. The beach at Fouras is gorgeous, and a dip at high tide is perfect."

"Fabulous apartment on the ground floor of a lovely property. Parking immediately outside the entrance was a bonus. The apartment met all of our needs, for a 1 night stay. If you are in the area and need accommodation, then you can be sure this will surely meet the most demanding of needs. First Class and highly recommended."
