"An excellent hotel on every account: warm and helpful reception; a very large room, perfectly clean; very quiet all night long; very conveniently located near the town center. The reception person helped me find an excellent restaurant open on Monday night (many are closed). One of my best experiences ever with a two-star hotel. I recommend it highly and with confidence."

"The property was perfect in every way: location, accommodation, breakfast and the chance to meet and chat with such a fascinating owner( Sophie)."

"What we did not appreciate was that Booking.com never signalled to us that we had inadvertently clicked for two bookings for the same couple( us). This was an error which we discovered on arrival there. Had we booked directly with La Taverne, the owner would have queried whether this was a mistake. No one at Booking did this. Consequently, we had to pay for two rooms— the only thing that marred our stay. We will reconsider ever booking with Booking.com again, having noted that a direct booking removes chance of inadvertent errors like this because we would be dealing with other human beings."

"Great location, very sweet classic guesthouse. We stopped on our 3 day bicycle tour - they had a place to store bicycles in a garage around the corner which was great. Breakfast was good too. The style is a little dated but it was all clean and functional."
