Set in the South Downs National Park, the Badgers Inn is just a 5-minute drive from Petworth village. Fresh, local produce is served in the restaurant which specialises in shellfish during the summer and game in the winter. Local wine and real ales are served in the cosy bar which features deep red ceilings and traditional wooden furniture. A log-fire in the lounge provides a warm room in which guests can relax on the large leather sofa. An elegant decor features in all rooms, which also include a flat-screen TV with DVD player and a hairdryer. A selection of toiletries is included in each tiled private bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the Badger Inn. Petworth House, set in 700 acres of parkland, is 10 minutes’ drive away. Free parking is possible on-site and Cowdray Golf Club is a 15-minute drive away. Goodwood Circuit and Goodwood Racecourse are within 20 minutes’ drive.

"A very convenient location for visiting Petworth House (the reason for our stay); lovely welcome from staff, a cosy pub with lots of interesting pictures, comfy cushions, real fires and delicious food; bedroom was also very comfortable and spacious as was the bathroom; an added bonus in the room was a fridge with a supply of fresh milk, and a coffee machine. Breakfast was cooked to order, and high quality ingredients."
"we prefer showers to baths but recognise not everyone does; however we wonder whether the bath would be easier to use if it had grab handles. it is a historic building so perhaps cannot have double glazing - there is a bit of traffic noise from the road"

"We thought the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all of our meals (breakfasts and an evening meal by the fire) and thought the downstairs pub was nicely atmospheric and fun. The room was a good size and had good tea making facilities and fridge. It was a very pretty pub, in a great location for us to explore the area. Loved the homemade chocolate cake!!"
