"I really enjoyed Sunset Guesthouse; the place is very comfortable, and the location is excellent. The rooftop terrace has an incredible view of the lake. The staff is excellent and helped me with all my questions."

"Once at the house, the locations is awesome, right on the water with amazing views of the lake. We liked how it was quiet at night being just a just short walk outside of the "downtown" but very close (5-10 minute walk) to everything in San Marcos. The property was spacious, the house was well stocked with kitchen gear, and having the kayaks available was nice, as was the filtered water. Great views in the evening from the deck, and the upper balconies were a great place to read or catch some sun. We also appreciated the extra towels for use at the lake."

"I spent my first night at a location in town and the town can be very noisy. Refugio del Volcan is about mile and half from the main strip of restaurants and bars, but it was a perfect quiet escape for sleeping in the evenings. James was a fantastic host with lots of information regarding the area and suggestions for exploration, dining and more."
