"I have not stayed at many hostels but this one was really nice. The common area is so "homie" and the rooms are nice. The bathrooms upstairs are excellent and I will most definitely be staying there again :)"

"It was very accessible, and we didn't have any problems with getting into town and also to and from the airport.. the beds were really comfortable and clean, someone's always cleaning the common areas and it's good value for money.. staff was really friendly and helpful and the check in/check out was so easy.. I would stay here again if I ever came back to Akureyri and I would recommend this to friends. 💗"

"We had a great stay at Akureyri Hostel. We booked a family room for ourselves and a single room for Mum, and both were comfortable and well equipped. The hostel had everything we needed, including free tea and coffee, access to a fridge and full kitchen facilities, a dining area, and a small seated living space which was nice to relax in after a day out. Towels were provided, which was very convenient, and there were hairdryers available in the shared bathrooms. Although the bathrooms were shared, they were always available when we needed them. Everything throughout the hostel was very clean, well maintained, and clearly well looked after. The hosts were available if needed and made the stay easy and straightforward. The location is excellent — about a 10-minute walk into town, with supermarkets just around the corner. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located place to"

"Very clean, comfortable beds, free tea and coffee, good kitchen amenities, plenty of bathrooms, good location, friendly cleaner, body wash provided, excellent heating, plenty of seating in the dining area, lovely garden (I think great for the summer), supermarket within a 2 minute walk."

"Could sometimes hear a bit of.noise from other rooms. No oven in kitchen. No instructions on how to use kitchen appliances (for example the hob), took a while to work out how to use it and even then I wasn't sure how to adjust the temperature etc."

"This hostel is a gem. It was really beautiful, everything newly refurbished and exceptionally clean. It may be different during peak season, but it was also very peaceful and quiet in February. The kitchen is well equipped, the dining area is large, there is complimentary coffee and tea, the bathrooms have heated floors and hairdryers, etc. Towels provided free of charge. Walking distance to supermarkets."

"- we would have preferred a double bed. We booked "double or twin", which ultimately turned out to be a twin - the staff only suggested moving the beds together, but this did not really solve the issue, as there was still a gap. Please have the possibility to book a double bed. - no oven in the kitchen - there was an automatic light (a very bright one) just outside our window, which turned on automatically every time a car passed. A bit uncomfortable. - no space for clothes in the room. Would be practical to replace the desk with a wardrobe/chest of drawers. - I do not expect room service in a hostel; however, it would be nice to at least have the rubbish bin emptied daily. - we never received the discount vouchers for restaurants and bakery, which we were promised. These are some improvement suggestions; however, we still had an exceptional stay!"

"The room was comfortable, clean and very well presented. The entire hostel was cleaned daily and the communal kitchen had most facilities though no oven - there was however a hob, microwave, George Foreman grill and a toaster. The location was great in that you can easily walk to the town center (20 mins) and the local shops (10 mins or less). For those not wanting to walk there is a bus stop directly outside the hostel and the free busses will take you around Akureyri. I like that there is luggage storage available and easy to use. Overall a really positive experience."

"We didn't really see any staff except from the cleaners everyday - however, there was no one at the hostel to talk to about food or trip recommendations. This didn't really bother me as all the locals we spoke to were incredibly helpful and friendly but just something to be aware of."
