Less than 5 minutes' walk from the dock, Rumah Tumpangan Poseidon is in Lipari centre. The family-run hostel is set in an ancient villa on the largest of the Aeolian Islands. Decorated in an Aeolian style, rooms here are air conditioned and many have a balcony or patio. They all come with a flat-screen TV, fridge and bathroom with hairdryer. The Poseidon Vila has free Wi-Fi in public areas. A buffet breakfast is served each morning and features mainly sweet food with some savoury items. The nearest public beach is just 400 metres away, while guests have discounts at Canneto beach 3 km away. The surrounding area is full of pubs, wine bars and restaurants, while the archaeological park is just 500 metres away.

"We had a very pleasant stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and the bed was very comfortable — we slept really well. The overall atmosphere was relaxing and quiet, perfect for a short getaway. "To start with, the location is not only excellent (right in the middle of historical Viterbo, walking distance to most things), but you also have parking inside (and space for normal-sized cars too), which can be a life saver when travelling by car. Nice (and very clean) room, and for a very reasonable price (have been to city accommodations half as good for twice the price). Also provided disposable indoor slippers, which is instantly a +1. Lastly, can mention that the owner also has a nearby restaurant (c. 2min walk), called La Chimera, which I can strongly recommend. I do not normally give 10/10 unless very deserving, i.e. going above and beyond, but this place deserves it."
