"The pool area was delightful and very clean and peaceful. The room was very spacious and clean. The staff, especially the manager were always willing to help in any way they can. Breakfast was served around the pool which was a lovely relaxing start to the day."

"A grand old hotel converted to a backpackers. I had a private room which was nice. It is a little faded and rough around the edges, but for me, that adds to the charm of the place. Who wants sterile and new! The showers were hot and high pressure, not a combination you get every day in S E Asia! They can hire you a scooter but had none the day i wanted one. The place directly across the street helped out and seemed honest and fair. A great place."

"The pool was excellent, never crowded. Big hotel. Very quiet in its own grounds at night - and day. There is a free shuttle bus to town (7 hours in between) which is useful just because it's there. There is a restaurant on site open all day which serves basic economical fare."
