"The Lodge is a 5 minute walk, down the hill into Russell. The view from our verandah was lovely over to Pahia & beyond. The kitchen & bathroom were fully equipped you could easily stay a few nights & eat in to enjoy the view..The bedroom/lounge is very comfortable. Everywhere is clean, bright & furnishings of a high quality."

"We stayed here for six nights and really, really enjoyed our stay. The view from the room was absolutely amazing and something we appreciated every single day. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The kitchenette was well equipped, with everything required to cook comfortably, and the bed was very comfortable, which meant we slept very well. It was also very quiet, making it a perfect place to relax. The location is excellent — within walking distance to the town centre if you don’t feel like driving, and very close to Long Beach, which is only a couple of minutes’ drive away or a nice walk if you enjoy walking. Everything is close and convenient."

"After a busy day of driving from Hokitika, we decided to split our drive to Kaikoura by staying at this hotel for one evening. Upon check-in the young woman clearly explained the restaurant hours, breakfast plan and how to use the outdoor jacuzzi which we definitely utilized for star-gazing later that evening. Since the hotel is literally in the middle of mountains and valleys and rivers, the views from the hotel/restaurant/villa were fantastic. We spent a few hours star-gazing the Milky Way which is our passion and one of the objectives for staying here for the evening. Given the hotel's location, the restaurant menu was quite limited which is a shame but understood given its remoteness. Lovely stay and would definitely recommend this hotel for those considering....."
