"Great air conditioning and shower. Staff arranged an excellent driver to bring us to the airport in the morning. Our room was quiet. The hotel is the perfect distance from the main square: a short walk but away from the noise. Hot shower. Each side of the bed when had power outlets and at least a chair or table for your phone and water (rare worldwide for some reason). They even had free water."

"2 minutes walk from the main plaza and all the tour offices. 5 mins walk from the Cacao Center. Absolutely clean rooms and bathrooms (rare in budget hotels in Peru!). The a/c is really welcome in Puerto as the humidity is debilitating. Friendly staff, several of whom speak English. Focus on sustainability. Huge TVs in the rooms with what looks like a cable box connected, though I didn't try mine. Strong, hot showers and good drainage. Comfortable beds and pillows. I stayed in 3 different rooms on different stays, and it seems they are adding more little amenities, like de-humidifier machine, towel racks in the bathroom, etc room by room. The lower floor rooms have them, but the top floor doesn't yet. I would still choose this hotel over any other in Puerto."
"Just a single sheet to cover yourself at night, which is common in Peru but a bit sparse with the a/c. They have a vending machine for drinks and they also offer free coffee, but there is nothing for breakfast if you need to catch an early tour."

"La Cabaña de Huerta Mar es un ambiente acogedor que brinda calidez y calma. Los anfitriones son personas muy amables y atentas a cualquier necesidad. Cuentan con una huerta adorable y unos acompañantes de cuatro patas cariñosos. Los techos elevados de la casa hacen que se mantenga el ambiente lo suficientemente fresco a comparación de la sensación térmica que se percibe al exterior. "The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The restaurant is excellent and the staff very helpful. There is secure parking (gate in front is closed at night). The downtown shops and markets are a short walk from the hotel. The hotel is easy to find on the main road on the north side of town. There appeared to be a drinks bar on the property but not integrated with the hotel or restaurant."
