"Great location, walking distance from the train station and the river. Caring host who fixed wifi issues and helped with island ferry information. They also arranged an earlier breakfast on our last day."

"The location was excellent and 5 or 10 mins to trains, buses, ferry and centre. The staff were excellent and welcoming, especially Filimena. The coffee machine in the room was good but we like tea first thing and a kettle was easily provided."

"Very central location - very short walk into the centre of Tavira. Filomena (manageress) was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Young man who served breakfast also very friendly and polite. Lovely decor in the lounge area. Rooftop terrace was a nice quiet place to relax in the sun."

"Nothing to dislike really. As our room was on the ground floor it just looked out on the street so no view but that wasn’t a problem. One thing that could be improved in the bedroom would be to put up some artwork on the walls which were very bare. Could be an opportunity to showcase local artists."

"Philomena and her staff could not have been more helpful, they were exceptional. The room was spacious and clean with goof facilities and a large comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent. The honesty bar was good. Beach towels were provided on request. The location is very convenient, close to the centre of town and many good restaurants. It was also quiet."

"The breakfast was excellent. Very healthy, fresh and delicious. The location is very convenient for the main square, supermarket and station. Our room was on the ground floor and the hotel is situated in a very quiet road so free of traffic noise. The staff were exceptional in their care of the clients needs. Especially Philamenia who goes out of her way to ensure that everybody is happy. I, myself, had an accident, not in the hotel, and she was very attentive to my needs."

"Filomena gave us a lovely warm welcome to Tavira House. The boys at breakfast were friendly too, serving an excellent breakfast. We were a 10 minute walk from the station and 10 minutes from the river in Tavira. Altogether a very pleasant stay."

From staying later to welcome us (late flight), complementary drink on arrival, loan of beach towels, plate of fruit left in our room for our early checkout breakfast, and a beautiful breakfast each morning, all carried out with a warmth and friendliness you do not receive very often these days!
