"Porvoo is a small hostel on the edge of town, a very pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the bus terminal. We loved our stay there and walks along the river and the old town. The hostel building is old but has loads of charm with extremely high ceilings and creaky timber floors. It was relaxing and homely and a lovely change from staying in a hotel. Thanks to the very kind woman who checked us in too."

"The sheets and towels provided were spotlessly clean but the towels could be replaced with thicker ones at some point. They did the job though."

"The hostel reminded me about the childhood times in summer camps. As said in previous reviews, the hostess is really nice and speaks proper English. All the facilities are clean, bedsheets and towels are provided. We were the only guests, so, staying all alone in the house was perfect for the price"

"There are no blackout curtains which was a bit uncomfortable since we stayed during the midsummer. Attention: if you’re a light sleeper and sensitive to noises, be careful choosing this place since the building is old and all-wooden with its “voice”"

"Although the owner is elderly, her English is excellent, so international tourists don’t need to worry about communication issues. She was incredibly friendly and hospitable. This was my first time visiting Porvoo, and she recommended christmas market and great restaurants in the city. She really reminds me of my grandmother.🥰 The hostel has all the basic facilities, including a toilet, bathroom, and kitchen (I didn’t even expect there to be a kitchen). P.S. If you’re looking for a modern, luxurious place to stay, this might not be the right fit. However, if you want the feeling of returning to your childhood days in the countryside with your grandparents so this is absolutely the best choice. I’ll definitely come back here if I get the chance. 😍"

"What a charming Hostel! The old wooden building is very nice and the rooms are simple but comfortable. There is a kitchen to prepare food and separate bathrooms with showers. Its located a bit outside the center but you can reach it within 10-min by foot or rent a shared bicycle. Nextdoor is the public swimming pool which can be good for rainy days. For the price it is a really nice stay and a charming hostel to visit. The history of the building is also very interesting as it was a female-led maternity hospital over 100 years ago. I can recommend to stay there :)"
