"Great location, a short walk from the ferry. Can connect you with rentals - bikes, scooters etc. Lots of helpful info in the hostel, eg. Ferry times. Lovely hosts."

"I don’t usually write a review for anything but this place really was special for us. The whole family who owns the place has become a part of our family for the short while. Our daughter had her third birthday during our stay with them and they went out of their way and organized a party for her. They bought some decorations, a piñata, invited the family children and made us a surprise. We were so happy, my daughter was amazed! She had so much fun, I am sure she will never forget them. Besides this, they truly have everything for the best prices- you can rent your scooter directly with them, get your clothes washed and eat delicious breakfasts. So if what u are looking for in your stay is a place that meets all your needs plus great Nicaraguan people, this is it! Thanks Siero family for the perfect time, all your support and friendship."

"The breakfast was very tasty, with different options every day. Contrary to what some other guests had mentioned the internet was very good and worked well in the room. It did go off for twenty minutes once but overall was very strong. Candida is a charming and very friendly woman and a proud Nicaraguan, all of which made it a delightful stay. The location might appear to be a con but in my opinion was a pro. A five or ten minute walk into the centre but in a little corner of the city without traffic whizzing around the streets, so it was quiet and calm."

"The place has nice interior design and vibe. I generally dislike the food in CA but did like the traditional and free breakfast and would not miss it. I found most of the complains of the other reviewers overblown, I came with low expectations but found little to dislike. The kitchen is functional. The location is directly in the city. I had a room on my own as they seem to have overcapacity with about 20-30 beds. I even would have extended but there is little to do in Esteli and I had already booked the next accommodations. I would return. Esteli has at least a cooler climate than the coast and mosquitoes are less of an issue."

"I had a great time at Guacimo lodge! As someone in the airline industry I stay in a great deal of hotels every year many that are top star quality. Guacimo lodge is one of the best best places I have stayed. The place is rustic and beautiful. The staff are attentive and fantastic and beat many of the hotels I stay at. Nothing is too much trouble they really do look after your every need. No matter if it’s a tour you want to go on or onward travel plans they help in every way they can. The menu at the lodge is small but delicious And perfectly cooked. Breakfast in particular was fresh and delicious. I couldn’t recommend the Guacimo lodge more it is a fantastic place to unwind and get back to nature. I look forward to staying again in the future."

"Francisco and his wife are big time pamperers! They make you wanna stay the rest of your life! My little triangle shaped hut was just too cute. Im weary of eating meat when traveling, but i devoured their chicken! They are working so hard, in a day they almost finished a shower and toilet? Francisco promised hooks and mirrors will soon be in every room and bathroom😊 I didn't do the tour, cause I was sick so i just went for a stroll and boat tour in the canyon , but my friends loved it."

"Fabulous value for money and it's lovely looking over the lake and being able to go for a swim. The room and bathroom are large (the upstairs room) and the bed is very comfortable with an excellent mosquito net. Kitchen is fine. Restaurants, hikes and activities within walking distance. Host is excellent at communicating and very helpful."
